Complete renovation of a typical shophouse to an ecstatic tea shop with playful textures, patterns and shapes, creating a visually appealing shade and depth throughout the space once hitting the light.

Composed of vertical striped panels made of hollow steel bars, the exterior expresses a repeated, structured rhythm captivating one's attention with its dark use of color, almost acts as a canvas backdrop to the brightly-lit signage. The bottom section, to give a balanced contrast, tones down in terms of color and visual transparency. The cup-shaped window adds a creative character to both exterior and interior, while offering an easy-to-recognize image to the shop.

Different tactile materials, chiaroscuro of space and color temperature meet at the entrance. Rough stone wall panels infuse a natural and rustic feeling; water ripple ceiling is nearly a reflection of the wall background itself despite giving an illusion of drizzling puddle. As you look to the right, the cement stripe texture continues all the way to the counter, offering dramatic shadow and cascading effect once a beam of light falls. The entire space features a seamless fusion of color usage, tactility of material surfaces, coupled with subdued lighting, resulting in exquisite socializing spot in the area.

The design of Dek Cha aims to incorporate the brand's identity from color theme, shape of the logo, store design and atmosphere into our design process as a guideline to achieve a consistent outcome that supports the brand's image and vision.
